I graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder with honors in 1984. After high school I graduated from University of California, San Diego suma cum laude, top 1% of my graduating class in 1988, with an economics degree and double minored in exercise physiology and psychology. I then returned to Colorado, because this is where I truly love to live for endless reasons, and also have the pleasure to be close to my family that also lives in the Boulder area.

Springtime in Littleton, CO means the colorful display of flowering crabapple trees, signaling the end of winter and the start of gardening season. But did you know, these trees aren’t just a happy accident? Over 40 years ago, a City beautification program led to the planting of many of the mature trees we enjoy today. In 1969, Mayor Vaughn Gardinier kickstarted the program, inspiring both the City Council and homeowners to plant thousands of crabapple trees along streets and in yards. Today, more than 7,000 of these trees adorn the community, earning Littleton the title of Flowering Crabapple Capital of Colorado in 2014. Now is the perfect time to take a drive along the crabapple route and witness these beautiful trees in full bloom! #littletonco #springblooms #communityhistory
